Our bags are packed!

Our bags are packed!

After several iterations of packing and unpacking, we're finally ready to go! For the next 7 months on the road, we will only have what we've managed to cram into our backpacks. Eric has the Tortuga v2 backpack, which is 45L. I got the Osprey Farpoint 40L, and I absolutely love it. Partly because it is amazing and partly because this was the only backpack that actually fit me.

It's just starting to sink in that this is all I'm going to have for a while. Considering how our closet at home is overflowing with my clothes, it'll be interesting to see how I do these next couple months and if I'll be better at purging my stuff when we return.

For the trip, I'm bringing along my hiking boots, sandals and a pair of flats in addition to a pair of sneakers that I'll be wearing. I've also got 3 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of leggings, 4 long sleeve shirts, 4 sweaters/layering shirts, 3 tshirts, 3 tank tops, shorts and a dress. Eric's got 3 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, sneakers, hiking boots that he's wearing and that's pretty much it? Eric's bag is bigger and yet I feel like I packed more than he did... interesting.

Besides chargers, lots of drugs, insect repellent and some toiletries, we are also bringing along two daypacks so we won't have to lug everything around on our backs when we are hiking around Patagonia, for instance. We just need to make sure we don't fill up the space in the daypacks before we get to South America!

All that's left to do now is get on the plane and go!
